We offer customizable, technology-enriched courses for PreK-16 Administrators, Teachers, ParaPros, and Technical Staff. Unless stated otherwise, all courses provide Professional Learning Units (PLUs): 10 Contact Hours = 1 PLU.

K12 Learning 2.0: Tools for 21st Century Learners (Online Course - Dalton State College ETC)

This couse is an online learning adventures designed to provide K-12 teachers and other school personnel with an introductory "What's out there?" exploration of some common tools and concepts related to Web 2.0.  All course content will be delivered online through Moodle.  A primary goal of this course is to model effective use of the technology tools teachers can implement in their own professional practice.  Participants will complete 3-5 discovery exercises and learning tasks (called "Things") per week, in an online environment, with the virtual guidance of a Learning 2.0 facilitator.  Completion of activities will require 3-5 hours per week of facilitated work, resulting in a minimum of 30 contact hours, or 3 PLUs.  Register online at http://fs8.formsite.com/dscettcorg/form703840768/index.html

Technical workshops are geared toward technology support specialists but teachers with a strong technical background are welcome to attend. To reduce the impact on school districts technical workshops will be provided on request and may even be held at the school site.  Please contact our Registrar at 229-249-2781 to inquire about holding a custom technical workshop at your school site.

 

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration: Classes at the Educational Technology Centers is on a first-come, first-served basis. Before registering for a training course, please be sure that your schedule will allow you to arrive on time and remain for the full session.

Registration is not complete until payment is received. Workshop Fees are non-refundable (unless at the fault of VSU ETC) but are transferable-- fee(s) can be used for another course at a later date or someone else may attend in your place. Please contact VSU ETC at 229-249-2781 for more information.

Cancellations: Classes are subject to cancellation if a minimum of five participants are not enrolled at least five days prior to start date or in the event of situations beyond our control. You will be notified of class cancellations by phone or email.

Parking: Temporary parking permits are issued via email a few days prior to the beginning date of the workshop(s).  Parking permits are required for the VSU campus.
